Medici Bank International, LLC ("MBI") is licensed and regulated by the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions (OCIF) in Puerto Rico as an International Financial Entity (license #IFE-030) pursuant to Act No. 273 of September 25, 2012, as amended (the IFE Act), and Regulation No. 5653.
Medici Bank is, among other activities, permitted to:
- accept deposits
- make & service loans
- underwrite & trade in securities, notes, debt instruments, and bills of exchange; buy & sell securities on behalf of clients
- operate a Trust division offering custodian services
- act as a Custodian of digital assets (crypto-currencies)
- offer loans secured by digital assets (crypto-currencies)
- issue and manage letters of credit
- conduct banking in any fiat currency, gold, silver, and trade in FX
- deal in money orders and similar instruments (eg bearer certificate denominated in national currency that is anonymous, transferable, and redeemable)
- engage in trade financing
- acquire and lease property
- act as a clearinghouse for financial contracts
- offer asset management, alternative investment management, management of private capital investments, manage hedge funds, manage pools of capital, administer trusts to convert assets into securities, administer escrow accounts.
